Dale and Mwils1 Get IROC Wins...Standings Continue to Shift!!

WOW Nuffers...... Never a dull moment in the NRL !!!

I thought it would be kinda quiet last week with only 2 races scheduled. But noooooo..... lol .... 

NRL Admins took the opportunity during the week to redo the driver and race track stat pages....and while we were at it... developed a POWER RANKING format to include... Career... Nextel.. Busch.. Craftsman... and IROC.  YA YA !!!

Matter of fact...Let's talk about the rankings first.... new additions to your NRL site ALONG with individual driver and track stats... coo ???

The Rankings.... Herezzzzz how we developed the formula. The following categories were awarded points as follows... Each Win = 4 pts.....   Each Top 5 Finish = 3 pts....  Each Top 10 Finish = 2 pts... Each Pole = 1 pt ::not including IROC poles which are random::: ...  and each start = 1 Pt.
Got it ???

So we went back through the history and awarded points in that format and then ranked everyone. Those rankings will be updated and posted weekly.

And your current overall TOP RANKED Nuffer izzzzzz......   YUP.....  IJEREMY !!

Jeremy has an astounding 27 total wins in the NRL and hold's the lap record on at least 8 different tracks !! WOW !!! Just take a look at Jeremy's Nextel Series Stats....

Each and every active Nuffer has their own driver stats posted for every series....easily accessible from the NRL home page.

With that kind of resume...you'd think he completely owns the NRL right???  Wrong !!!

Though ranked number one... Jeremy is still looking for a series title. He is well on his way with dominating runs in both the current Craftsman and Busch Series... matter of fact... Championship trophies have already been ordered and are on ice till it's official !!  Great Job Jeremy !!

Nextel 07-08 Champ Abbotttazz is ranked numba 2 overall with some amazing stats of his own... with Buster, Mwils and BigMike rounding off the Top 5!! Woo Hoooo !!!

So what about the current Nextel Season???? Very interesting !!!

Though not in first place in the current standings.... Abbotttazz is currently your number 1 ranked Nextel 08 Series racer. That's how competitive the NRL has become baybeee!! Take a look at your top 15 Nextel Series Racers....

Let's get down to the exciting race results from last week !!

Both the Craftsman and Busch Series had off weeks... but are back on it this week. The Craftsman series heads to Daytona on Wednesday Night while the Busch Series takes on the Road Course at Watkins Glen on Friday....

So our first race of the week was the exciting Iroc-A-Thon Race at Michigan!!

For the second consecutive week... the overall standings saw another major shift !!

Get this...2 weeks ago....here were your top 5 in the standings... 1. Jeremy 2. Dale 3. Buster 4. Abbott 5. Thegift.
Then Last week you had 1. Buster (+2) 2. Dale 3. Jeremy (-2) 4. Abbott 5. Mwils (new top 5).

So with Buster leap froggin both Jeremy and Dale last week to take over first place...and Mwils replacing TheGift in 5th palce.... we ran COTs at Michigan... and YOU GUESSED IT...lol... anuudda standings shift !!

MWILS.... who?!?!?!?! ....  Das right....told yall Mwils had been racing very well lately...finishing near the front quite a bit lately.... Picked up a GIGANTIC win at Michigan on Track A. YA YA YA !!! But it wasn't easy.....matter-o-fact.... there was a bit of controversy at the very end. With about 10 laps to go...


Mwils....currently ranked number 4 in IROC.... was barely out front... with 3rd ranked Jeremy right on his tail. "Yeah...Jeremy is just hanging out behind me and will be passing soon" said Mwils...expecting to settle for 2nd place. "I was a bit worried about fighting so hard to win...I wreck maself out and don't even get 2nd"...thought Mwils. And Jeremy was as quiet as a mouse.... nawwwww... not a mouse...a shark !!! Just lurking ....stalking his prey...lol. Well... with 5 laps to go... Mwils pushed a bit in turn 3 and Jeremy got inside position and took over the lead. "I knew it !!!" ...... All you heard from Jeremy was a calm ... quiet... "Inside" call on position. And Jeremy took over the lead out of turn 4. THEN it really got exciting !!! Mwils was strong all night in the turns... and with 3 laps to go...Mwils was able to get inside of Jeremy out of turn 2.... He couldn't get by Jeremy....so the 2 raced side by side for the final 3 laps !!! WHOA !!!!! With Mwils on the inside of Jeremy down the back stretch of the final lap.... both were fast approaching BigMike...hmmmmm.... strategy time !! Going into turn 4....Mwils noticed that Big Mike stayed high...so Mwils... running the inside...figured if he hold his line and not let Jeremy get enough space to move inside to pass Big Mike... he'd be trapped!! But it get's deeper... Jeremy had been lagging a bit throughout the second half of the race.. jumping to the right... So Mwils felt safe on the inside. On to Turn 3 of the last lap !!! Big Mike was outside...trying to get out of the way.... while Jeremy and Mwils continued side by side... and coming out of turn 4... all of a sudden while Mwils was passing Big Mike....Jeremy disappeared.... then disconnected!?!?!?! DOUBLE... QUADRUPLE....to the 25th POWER WHOA !!!! So Mwils cruised on in for the Victory!!! Shortly after the race Jeremy sent a note that Mwils tapped him in turn 4 and Jeremy lost his suspension !!! ... So that's what happened to Jeremy!! Mwils responded right away that he did not sense that there was a crash... on his screen... everything was fine and concluded that it had to be lag that took Jeremy out. Nevertheless... Mwils offered apologies to Jeremy...but did he give Jeremy the win???  HA !!!!!

With the suspension trouble...Jeremy did not finish the final lap and ended up finishing 6th... wow... tough break Jeremy. So who finished second? PITT Penguin !!! PITT who???? YAAAAAA PITT...ranked 8th in IROC...... raced very strong all night....as did 16th ranked Big Mike... who not only had a play in the final results... though he probably didn't realize "Pimp" Wilz had Big Mike on the street working...lol.... rounded off the top 3!! Just a great race !! Again !!! Here are your

Now over on track B.... This one did not have as much of a storyline at the end. So we'll give you a break on the reading....LOL...

Cut and Dry.........IROC TOP RANKED Mr DaleReynolds did it again..... winning his 3rd IROC race in dominating fashion...Dale is now tied with (#2)Buster with 3 wins each over the first 6 races...and has now jumped out front in the standings !! Dale led 35 laps and took advantage of a coupla early pits by runner up (#4)Abbotttazz to cruise on in. WONDERFUL JOB DALE !!!

Abbott took second and 10th ranked DueceyDu continues to improve with a strong 3rd place finish. Here are your

SO..... How did the results impact the overall standings.... remember the order before the race...

1. Buster (+2) 2. Dale 3. Jeremy (-2) 4. Abbott 5. Mwils (new top 5).

Well..... check this out...
1. Dale  (+1) 2. Abbott (+2) 3. Mwils (+2) 4. Jeremy (-1) 5. TheGift (back in the top 5)

WOW !!!!!

Next week IROC gives the COTzzz a break....and will bring out the Busch Cars for a challenge at the Milwaukee Mile !! Uh  Oh !!!

Enough about IROC....

How about the Biggun.... the Nextel Series' Pocono 500 !!! Several questions were pondered before the race....

Would TheGift repeat?
How bout UncleChucke...who had this race won last time out...
Or Mwils... who has a win and a second place finish on this tricky track?
Or would Higher Ranked Nuffers like Jeremy...Abbotttazz...Buster... to name a few... add anudda victory to their already impressive profiles?

Those were the main questions at hand prior to this one.... And we can answer the first 2 now....

TheGift (#3) :::previously ranked number 1:::::was not available to defend his title...but did prequal for 50 pts...though he was online.... Hmmmmmmmmmmm......lol.

And 6th ranked Uncle Chucke was online for the final prequal session... but had to be disappointed that TheGift announced he was not racing. Well Chucke did prequal but was not available when the green flag dropped. Sooooo... there went all the suspense.... right?? WRONG AGAIN !!!

Top Nuffers.....(#1) Abbott...(#2) Buster...(#4) Dale...(#5) Jeremy and (#8) Mwils...:::das right I sed it.::: Mwils....lol... were ready to go. So the latter questions were still out there.

On top of that...13 Nuffers... including 2 newcomers were able to race the Pocono 500 on 1 track!! AWESOME !!!

I remember it.... That was the winning car of the Pennsylvania 500.. driven at the time by TheGift.... NOT THIS TIME !!!! Instead...a question not pondered turned out to be the headliner!

Das Right...Nuff Rookie and unranked Ultimateassin.... took over the driving duties of the number #43 car and picked up the Win in a great race !!! GO HED ULTIMATE !!!!

Though 13 Nuffers started ..... only 5 Nuffers were there at the end....LOL !! So what happened to the other 8?? Obviously a bunch of disconnects due to having so many on one track right.... WRONG....

The Pocono Raceway was hungry....and ate up 7 cars during the race!!! We only lost one to an apparent disconnect...losing Big Mike early.... the other 7 fell prey to engine/suspension troubles throughout.

The last 80 laps of the 200 lapper were completed under the green flag....which proved to be the difference maker. With just under 40 laps to go...Mwils and Buster...running second and third to Ultimate...went in for a full pit....hoping they could finish the final 35-40 laps with out having to go back in...and knowing that the rest of the field still had to go in... felt pretty good about their chances. A few laps later...Ultimate went in... which put DaleReynolds out front for several laps. Then Dale had to go in for his final pit.... Buster and Mwils ended up having to go back in for one more can of gas and right side tires with less than 20 to go. So Ultimate was able to regain the lead and never looked back !!! CONGRATS Ultimate !!

DaleReynolds took second while Buster rounded off the top 3.

There is more !!! :::underdawg::: DueceyDu :::ranked 9th::: had a GREAT car all day and raced out front throughout!!! It really looked like Duecey would grab his first NRL Nextel win of his young career. But a coupla late fenda bendas... one that collected Abbott...causing damage Abbott could not recover from.... and anudda with the hungry Pocono wall took Duecey out with just 50 laps to go!! "(&(&^@(&@^" yelled Duecey!!! LOL....

Other notes include a new lap record...set by Reaper with a sterling 49.893 prequal time.... and a top 10 finish by your other NRL rookie...Kelly1996!

All racers ran very well at this tough track...with pretty good green flag runs from beginning to end....again with the last 80 laps finishing under the green flag. And to top it all off....The NRL finished another 100% race in UNDER 3 HOURS !!!!  Very Impressive !!!

Next up for the Nextel Series will be the second running of the Centurion Boats Challenge at Watkins Glen. IJeremy won this one last year...outlasting Abbotttazz at the very end. Will he repeat?????
